 Rhode
Island is a small state, but because of its irregular shape, it has many
miles of coastline and harbors. Many people may recognize the "Daily
Planet" building from the old Superman TV series and not realize that
building is in downtown Providence, Rhode Island.
 Newport, Rhode Island is known as the
resort area for the super rich in the early part of the 1900's.
Today, many of the mansions that dot the coastline are museums
and some, like the
Francis Malbone House, have been
converted to hotels. In colonial times, Newport Harbor was one of the
busiest harbors in the "New World".
